I haven’t ridden a horse for approximately 40 years. I’m in my70’s and extremely rusty but I wanted to get back in the saddle again I’ve had 5 lessons here at Forest Farm to date 4 with Derek and 1 with Lauren, both very good teachers extremely knowledgeable Derek is very patient. I’ve had two different horses and both are super patient kind and gentle. I’m confident that after a few more lessons I’ll be out hacking which is my goal, I cannot speak highly enough of this stable and am enjoying the whole experience

Excellent riding school! Safe and professional. I recently got back into horse riding and I was a little apprehensive about starting again; but this riding school has been amazing at getting my confidence back. I’ve had Lauren and Derek for my lessons so far and they’ve been fab. They let you work at your own pace and never pressure you into doing anything you don’t feel ready to do yet. Would highly recommend ☺️

I had a lesson here on Sunday, I have ridden some where else but looking to change. Ut was weird changing barn and I rode quite badly ( not anyone's fault ). The horse I rode was quite bouncy which I'm not to used to but lots if fun. Can't wait to come back.

Great school, only 2/3 riders in each lesson making it very personal. My daughters riding has improved so much in the short while she's been there👌

My little princess had her birthday party here and even with the rain they all had a fantastic time. The relay race was the best and all the kids, with different abilities, had huge smiles on their little faces - everyone made us feel welcome. Big thank you to Derek and all the team :)

A complete novice rider who needed lessons for career development. So glad I contacted Forest Farm riding school, from the first moment they were really friendly and flexible. I work shifts, and had to cancel a couple of lessons (within the required time frame), and they were really accommodating. Derek who I predominately had as my instructor is outstanding. Patient, friendly and his teaching practises are exceptional. Delivering clear and precise techniques which allowed me to improve every lesson. He showed genuine interest in my requirements, and gave me material to think/focus on until my next lesson. I had Laura for a lesson who also is exceptionally good, and despite having only one lesson with her, I can tell she is passionate and has a strong foundation of horse knowledge. Always a warm welcome when I arrive, plenty of parking and located in a nice area. Safety of clients and horses welfare is strongly demonstrated here. Suitable for all ages and levels.

My Daughter enjoyed this at the beginning, however the instructors kept changing, which looses track of progress. Then we had Derek, he’s not really adapted when dealing with under 16s, If he’s having a bad day then this shows during the lesson. The last lesson all 5 girls were told off and no real riding actually took place. Also other riders coming in while the girls are having there lesson. However that said, this could be a 5 star riding school with a few small changes.

my 4 and a half year old had her first lesson here today and she loved it. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The teacher was enthusiastic and encouraging. My daughter learnt loads - which was more than I expected.

My boys and myself love Forest Farm! The boys started having lessons as beginners and have developed brilliantly with the help of excellent instructors. I hack regularly and the rides are brilliant, St Leonard's Forest is lovely and the horses are fantastic.
